How do I Supervise the Internet on Mobile Internet Enabled Devices?

There are a number of techniques that can be used:

  • Clear Guidelines: Discuss the specific issues of mobile Internet technologies with your children and develop clear guidelines for usage.
  • Use Parental Controls: Parental monitoring software is available for many mobile Internet technologies. Check to see what is available to make the mobile device safer for children.
  • Activity Reports: Activity reports (such as phone call lists and log files for websites visited) of the mobile device can be produced. Check with your ISP to find out what information can be gathered in this area.
  • Telecommunication Controls: Many Internet services can be blocked and telephone numbers (such as 1900 numbers) barred by parents. Make sure you know what your children have access to before they use the mobile device.
